- 薄荷绿款:自带清新静谧感,完美适配日式侘寂、北欧极简风的家居,成为独处冥想、阅读的角落核心;
- 暖橘红款:传递热情温暖的氛围,适合复古、地中海风格的客厅,是朋友小聚、家庭交流的社交纽带;

Cross-Cultural Design. A Seating Revolution.
NINEIDEA: In the fast-paced contemporary life, we have long been accustomed to simplifying “sitting” into an accessory to efficiency – office chairs support the fatigue of sitting for a long time, and sofas carry a short rest, but few people think about: the nature of the seat, is it a tool to bind the body, or a medium to connect self and space? The OsOLO seating platform, created by designer G ö k ç e Nafak, is a gentle rebellion against this situation. It redefines the ritual of “sitting” with cross-cultural industrial design language, allowing the body to be placed and thoughts to freely wander.
1、 Design Traceability: Contemporary Dialogue between Two Ancient Cultures
The birth of OSOLO originates from a cross regional cultural resonance: Japan’s quiet aesthetics and Türkiye’s hospitality seem far apart, but they find the intersection in the value of “space” and “connection”.
In traditional Japanese spatial aesthetics, “wabi sabi” and “white space” are at the core – the warmth of tatami mats and the transparency of the living room make sitting and lying a way to communicate with nature and oneself, and every line hides a reverence for simplicity; In Türkiye’s hospitality, the seat is the link between people. The soft carpet and the couch seat make communication happen naturally in a relaxed attitude, and convey enthusiasm and respect for others.
Designer G ö k ç e Nafak keenly captures the common core of two cultures: a commitment to simplicity, reverence for space, and a desire for connection between people, and transforms it into a contemporary industrial design language, making OsOLO a chair that carries cultural warmth rather than a cold functional product.
2、 Form and Material: Industrial Design Expression Breaking Boundaries
OsOLO completely abandons the traditional frame structure of chairs and reconstructs the form and logic of the seat with a “platform style” seating surface. Every detail hides deep reflections on ergonomics and life scenarios:
- Borderless form: a carrier of free posture
Unlike traditional chairs with armrests and backrests, OSOLO features a sleek rolled metal base as its core, with a wrapped backrest extending upwards to form an integrated “sitting and lying platform” with a fluffy cushion. There is no clear boundary for sitting posture, and the seated person can freely choose to sit cross legged, recline for rest, or even sit side by side with others – blurring the boundary between single person seating and social space, making “sitting” no longer a single action, but a flexible lifestyle posture.
- Material collision: balance between industrial feel and temperature feel
Metal base: Adopting matte baking paint technology, the low saturation Morandi color series (mint green, warm orange red, haze blue, etc.) not only retains the sharp lines of industrial design, but also gently integrates various home styles such as Nordic, Japanese, and modern simplicity, while balancing structural stability and durability.
Plush sitting surface: high-density granular plush fabric, skin friendly touch brings a wrapped comfortable experience, which can hold the body like a hug, so that you can stay relaxed even after sitting for a long time, echoing Türkiye’s pursuit of “warmth”.
Storage details: The bottom open slot design not only continues the minimalist visual language, but also provides hiding space for small items such as books and pillows, making the “sitting” scene more lively and perfectly interpreting the industrial design principle of “form follows function, function carries emotion”.
3、 Design Philosophy: A Lifestyle of Replacing Speed with Consciousness
The core design concept of OsOLO is “consciously sitting” – it refuses to be a tool for pursuing efficiency, but invites people to refocus on the ritual of “sitting” itself.
Traditional seats often constrain the body through fixed frames, making us gradually numb during “efficient sitting”; As a “seating platform”, the design goal of OSOLO is to free the body from constraints and free the mind from daily busyness: when you lean on a fluffy seat, your gaze brushes over simple metal lines, and your fingertips touch the plush texture, you will naturally slow down your breathing, regain self-awareness in the coexistence with space, and rebuild social connections in the sitting with others.
This design philosophy precisely responds to the contemporary people’s desire for “slow life” and “mindfulness life”, and also provides a new direction for industrial design: good design is never a flashy form, but a gentle guidance for lifestyle.
4、 Scene adaptation: design solutions for diverse spaces
The multi-color version design of OsOLO allows it to adapt to different living scenes and spatial styles:
Mint green style: It comes with a fresh and tranquil feeling, perfectly suitable for Japanese Wabi Sabi and Nordic minimalist home decor, becoming the corner core for solitary meditation and reading;
Warm Orange Red Style: Conveying a warm and welcoming atmosphere, suitable for retro and Mediterranean style living rooms, serving as a social bond for friends to gather and family to communicate;
Haze Blue: A calm and restrained color tone that is more suitable for modern, minimalist, industrial style office spaces or public rest areas, creating a focused and relaxed atmosphere.
Whether it’s the spiritual corner of a solitary person, the leisure area of a two person world, or the social arena of a small studio, OSOLO can become the “emotional anchor” of a space, making “sitting” a warm ritual of life.
5、 The Value of Contemporary Industrial Design from the Perspective of OsOLO
As a team deeply involved in the field of industrial design, we have seen the power of humanistic design in OSOLO’s design: true good design is never about flashy skills detached from life, but a deep understanding of culture, life, and people.
OsOLO breaks the functional boundaries of traditional seating with a cross-cultural perspective, freeing “sitting” from the shackles of efficiency and making design a bridge connecting tradition and the future, self and others. This is also the design direction we advocate: putting users at the core, using culture as the background, and reconstructing the beautiful details of contemporary life with warm industrial design.
If you are also looking for seat designs that can carry the temperature of life, or hoping to inject cross-cultural design language into space, OSOLO is undoubtedly a model worth learning from – it tells us that the meaning of a seat is not just about placing the body, but also about awakening our awareness and love for life.
